Crystalline Fragments are a decorative artifact that spawn on Crystal Lattice Seekers and on the ground in the Prism of Light. It is a light source when locked down in a house.
Like Thorvald's Medallion, it has no current known use. However, as similarly blessed items, like Thrasher's Tail and Abcess's Tail, are Quest items, it is possible that this item was intended to be a quest item that was never used.
Update: Crystalline fragments are part of a quest that can be obtained from Jeremiah the Iron Worker. The quest is called "Crystalline Fragments". You will need to collect 10 Crystalline Fragments, and in return you will receive a Craftsman Satchel.
