Vet Rewards: 4th-year, 5th-year, and a skill cap increase!

In appreciation for our long-term players, Ultima Online currently offers a number of “Veteran Reward” gift sets, each containing items you can’t get anywhere else in the game. The more months a UO game account remains active, the more gifts that account can claim. There are currently multiple vet reward sets (for 1, 2 and 3 year veterans of UO), and we are in the process of adding two more (for 4 and 5 year veterans), as well as a new kind of bonus (see below).

Players with accounts aged 1 year or more can claim their vet rewards as follows:

When an Ultima Online account has been active for a total of 12 months its player may choose a total of 3 choices from the 12 – 23 month list.
When the account has been active for 24 months its player receives an additional choice (totaling 4 choices), and that new choice (or any previously unused choices) may be from the 24 – 35 or 12 – 23 month lists.
When the account has been active for 36 months its player receives an additional choice (totaling 5 choices), and that new choice (or any previously unused choices) may be from the 36 – 47, 24 – 35, or 12 – 23 month lists.
When the account has been active for 48 months its player receives an additional choice (totaling 6 choices), and that new choice (or any previously unused choices) may be from the 48 - 59, 36 – 47, 24 – 35, or 12 – 23 month lists.=
When the account has been active for 60 months its player receives an additional choice (totaling 7 choices), and that new choice (or any previously unused choices) may be from the 60+, 48 – 59, 36 – 47, 24 – 35, or 12 – 23 month lists.
When an account has been active for 72 months its player will receive two vet reward choices (instead of the normal one choice), and another two for each additional 12 months which the account remains active. These choices may be selected from any of the existing vet rewards lists. No more decisions have been made regarding six year Veteran Reward choices at this time.

1st – 4th Year Vet Reward Bonus

In addition to the normal 1st- through 5th-year Vet Rewards sets, every UO game account that is active for 12 months or more will receive a special “bonus” in the form of a skill cap increase! For every 12 months which an account remains active, every character that has been or will be created on that account shall have its total possible skill points increased by +5, as per the following chart:

The maximum possible skill points will be 720 points. Please note that it is only the “skill cap” is raising, and the characters will not actually receive any extra “skill points.”

Players will not have to manually activate or select the skill cap increases—they are a free gift to all players and their characters, and will automatically activate simply by one’s account remaining active for 12 months or more.

4th Year Vet Rewards

The following list of items is the “4th year rewards” set that will be available to choose from for players whose accounts have been active for 48 months or more. All reward options are “no loot” and “no steal,” and clothing items will never wear out. Only those characters on accounts aged 48 months or more will be able to select these 4th year reward items. (See below for some images of these rewards.)

Choice of one of the following statuettes (When someone approaches the statuette, if the statuette is on the ground or locked down within a house, it will make a noise appropriate to its creature type.)
- Ophidian Warrior
- Reaper
- Mongbat
Ethereal mount (unicorn, kirin, or ridgeback; one per reward choice)
- Transparent hue (similar to the hue of previous rewards sets, but with light grey highlights).
- Appears as a statue in your backpack.
- Double-clicking the statue will cause the statue to disappear and create the mount and you will automatically mount it. (There will be a 3-second “summoning delay” before the ethereal mount will appear.)
- Once on the mount, double-clicking yourself will dismount you and automatically transform the mount back into the statue which will reappear in your backpack immediately.
- Ethereal mounts never lose loyalty and can't be transferred.
- The mount can never appear without being mounted; therefore it cannot attack or be attacked.
- Ownership of these ethereal mounts will only be limited by account age and not by character gender; male or female characters may use ethereal unicorns, and male or female characters may use ethereal kirin. These mounts will not have any special abilities normally associated with the “live” versions of these creatures.
Any of the 12 – 23, 23 – 35, or 36 – 48 month rewards listed.

5th Year Vet Rewards

The following list of items is the “5th year rewards” set that will be available to choose from for players whose accounts have been active for 60 months or more. All reward options are “no loot” and “no steal,” and clothing items will never wear out. Only those characters on accounts aged 60 months or more will be able to select or use these 5th year reward items. (See below for some images of these rewards.)

Vet Reward Statuette dye tub
- Players will be able to use this dye tub to color their Vet Reward statues from a selection of hues.

- Fire Elemental
- Wolf
Ethereal mount (giant beetle or swamp dragon; one per reward choice)
- Transparent hue (similar to the hue of previous rewards sets, but with light grey highlights).
- Appears as a statue in your backpack.
- Double-clicking the statue will cause the statue to disappear and create the mount and you will automatically mount it. (There will be a 3-second “summoning delay” before the ethereal mount will appear.)
- Once on the mount, double-clicking yourself will dismount you and automatically transform the mount back into the statue which will reappear in your backpack immediately.
- Ethereal mounts never lose loyalty and can't be transferred.

Ankh decoration
- These Ankh decorations will be able to be placed in houses.
- Owners will be able to select the facing of the Ankh.
