Appearance

The Founder of the Moonglow Town Council has taken to retirement slowly, gradually exchanging his previously formal attire for the comfort of robes and shrouds. The former Mayor is a slender figure with stark white skin, due in part to what is known as a "Scribe's Tan" rather than any malnourishment or affliction. Physiologically, the Archmage possesses a intellect pressed forcefully into a body ensorcelled with anti-aging cantrips and enchantments, a contradiction that leads to many muddled first impressions for the studied Founder. Tell-tale of his age and perhaps his station in Sosaria's history are GreyPawn's eyes, which, being windows to the soul, refuse to cooperate with the regimen of age reversal incantations.

GreyPawn wears simple blue clothing over a panoply of priceless artifacts, preferring always functionality to fashion, and shunning aesthetic over convenience. His face almost always features a stern, set look, and his voice is a moderate pitch with a nasal inflection, generally offset by a subtle but arrogant tone.

History (In Progress)

Family Origin

Joan Pishboz, the mother of Aleister Flagg, was the secret offspring of a controversial experiment in magickal biological manipulation by the mage Norab of Magincia. A noble couple, whose names are now lost to antiquity, sought to bear a child, but could not due to the would-be father's infertility. Norab sought the solution in many realms, finding no answer. Over the course of his studies, by happy coincidence he came upon the bottled essence of an ethereal warrior from what is now known as Reg Volom in Ilshenar. In a scandal that rocked the Magincian Parliament, Norab used this essence to impregnate the noble lady. Joan was the result. Raised as a ward of the state of Magincia and released to her own devices at maturity, Joan plied her trade as a seamstress, building up a modest business on the island city.

A raid by the Order of the Ebon Skull found Joan taken by force to Golgotha, where a promising and newly embraced vampire known as Lucas seduced her and took her as a bride. Lucas had a great affinity for animals, particularly white wyrms. He bred them for their ferocity and immense capabilities in battle against the Ebon Skull's enemies, gaining prominence quickly. Joan soon was with child, and it quickly became obvious that the Order intended to destroy the infant before it could be born. The Ebon Skull had prophecied that a "blue-clad one" that hailed "from the east" would threaten the works of the Lich Lord, and divination pointed to the pregnant Joan. In a final act of goodness, Lucas dispatched his bride to the icy waters on a skiff headed back to Magincia, bidding farewell to his beloved and the boy she would later bear. Aleister Flagg was born.

Youth

After completing grammar school and possessed of a rudimentary knowledge of the world, Aleister was sent to the Lyceaum in Moonglow to study under the guidance of the scribes. In the Lyceaum, Aleister was a troublemaker of sorts, often getting into scuffs in the courtyard with the pretentious career scholars that considered themselves nobility. It took the better part of half a decade for Aleister to come to terms with his affinity for magic.
