UOGuide:Logo

The current logo

The current UOGuide logo image (top left corner of every web page) was something I created in haste when building the website. It was always meant to be a temporary image until someone with art skills could make a replacement. I think it is long overdue that such a person create a shiny new one.

The image requirements are:

  • 135x135 Pixels
  • PNG format
  • "UOGuide" written somewhere on the image

If you would like to give it a shot, please email sketches or completed works to Jc contact.png. Or you could upload them here on the website and post them in the discussion page. It is up to you.

The best submission in the staff's opinion will be selected to become the new logo. The creator may be rewarded with gold or something else. However, this is not a contest. If no acceptable entry is found the current logo will remain.

Please, don't let that happen! - JC the Builder 19:09, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

June 14 Update

A lot of nice submissions so far. I decided to have them all rotate in their potential home. We will go about another week before selecting a new logo. Plenty of time to submit your own idea. - JC the Builder 16:31, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Ideas

Some ideas people have for a logo. If you could bring their idea to life, please give it a try and send your creation to Jc contact.png.

  • Runic Symbol Globe
Take Wikipedia's logo, change the puzzle-globe background color to #EECCCC (the table cell background from the "uoguidetable" CSS class), replace "Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia" with "UOGuide, The UO Encyclopedia" (or just simply "UOGuide") in UOGuide Red (#9F3215), and change all of the characters on the puzzle-globe to runic symbols. That one is more of a parody than a real possibility, though. Unless it turns out that it looks totally awesome or something. - Cogniac
