Overview
Generally speaking, a Character is the in-game manifestation of the live player. Once created, a character cannot be deleted for seven days. Each player account allows for at least five and up to seven character slots, depending on the used tokens and version of the game is purchased. The exceptions are Siege Perilous and Mugen shards, where only one character per player account is allowed.

Character Creation
:Main Article: Create a New Character
There are four steps to character creation in Ultima Online:

Race
:Main Article: Races
There are three playable races in Ultima Online each having unique racial abilities:
Humans
:Main Article: Humans
Protectors of Britannia, Humans have adapted to their environment, improving many beneficial traits and abilities:

Strong Back
:Years of hard work allow more weight to be carried on strong backs.
:{|

* Carry an additional 60 Stones of weight

Starting Location
As it stands, new characters end up in New Haven. But I wonder if the town'll see some sort of overhaul with the introduction of the new client - or perhaps gargoyles will start somewhere entirely different?

Concentrating too much on the area as it is now might result in another required re-write when the expansion hits, so it might pay for any new guides written on the subject to keep precise geographical references to a minimum.
Siege Perilous
I don't think we need to mention Siege in the shard selection section because a new account cannot even see these shards. I would like the guide to be as concise as possible. There is mention of the Siege ruleset on the shard page if a new player wishes to learn more. - JC the Builder 14:55, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
2D v. Enhanced Client
I know that most players are adament about how 2D is better than the Enhanced Client. However, I have played the EC for a long time now and it appears to be much more stable than 2D. Most of the time, when all around me running 2D crash, I am still running, with no problems whatsoever. I understand that there are many who hate the graphics in EC. But that is not what this page says, and it seems misleading, imho.

__NOTOC__

The Lost Lands is a continental landmass that was added to the gameplay area by UO's first expansion in 1998.

The entrances to the lands were uncovered, or in some instances activated, as a result of geologic activity produced from the use of the Armageddon spell, which was cast by the Followers of Armageddon, also known as the Zog Cabal. The first Britannian expedition to the Lost Lands was led by Crawworth.

Some entrances require the utterance of magic words: <big><b>"recdu"</b></big> and <big><b>"recsu."</b></big>

There are slight differences between the Trammel and Felucca facets of the Lost Lands.
Trammel
There are 2 cities, a single dungeon, and a vast open countryside.

Papua
Papua can be reached by saying 'recdu' when standing on the pentagram in the Moonglow mage shop. Return to Moonglow by saying 'recsu' while standing on the pentagram in the Papua mage shop. With nice docks, the village can also be reached by boat.

Papua is a small town of grass huts closer to the center of the map. NPC vendors include:
valign="top"|
*alchemist;
*baker;
*blacksmith;
*butcher;
*carpenter;
*healer;
valign="top"|
*jeweler;
*provisioner;
*shipwright;
*stables;
*tailor; and
*tinker.

Delucia
The larger city of Delucia is host to the following NPC shops: Bank; Mage Shop; Smith/Weaponry Shop; Provisioner; Healer; Stables; Inn; and Tailor.

Terethan Keep
The Terathan Keep dungeon

Felucca
In addition to the locations listed above, the Felucca Lost Lands has Champion Spawns and the dungeon Khaldun.

Lore
It is not clear if the cities of the Lost Lands are part of Britannia proper (meaning if the are ruled by the Crown and the Britannian Council) or not.
