Custom houses are just that - custom. You could copy a Classic House and modify it to your own taste, or build a completely new design of your own choosing. The possibilities in Ultima Online for housing are nearly limitless.

Why choose a two story over a three story customizable house? Well, you might not find a large enough plot of open land, or you may just want to keep things simple.

Your options in a Two-Story Customizable house are as follow:

* 7 spaces wide by 7 spaces deep (7x7), 7x8, 7x9, 7x10, 7x11 or 7x12. Gold cost for largest plot in this grouping is 53,000.

* 8 spaces wide by 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13. Gold cost for largest plot in this grouping is 64,500.

* 9 spaces wide by 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13. Gold cost for largest plot in this grouping is 72,000.

* 10 spaces wide by 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13. Gold cost for largest plot in this grouping is 79,500.

* 11 spaces wide by 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13. Gold cost for largest plot in this grouping is 87,000.

* 12 spaces wide by 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13. Gold cost for largest plot in this grouping is 94,500.

==Storage and Lockdowns:==

When using the House Placement Tool, you will see a table detailing the above information. Also included in this table are total Storage and Lockdowns for each house plot size. Storage is simple enough - it's how much stuff you can store in your containers. Lockdowns are simply containers or decorative items that you may lock down inside you home. Some container examples might be a small wooden box or a chest recovered from a paragon. Decorative items might be flowers, a table or whatever you like.

Specific information about the number of storage and lockdowns for each size is not included. This is because you can change that by upgrading your account. The official UO store has an account upgrade option that will increase your storage potential by 20%, and the upcoming Adventure on the High Seas booster pack will add more as well. If you already have the upgrade, the new booster will stack on top your existing storage and lockdown counts!

The art of '''Cooking''' is likely the least useful of crafting [[skill]]s, but does offer a wide range of "decorative" items. The ability to place personalised messages on things such as [[Cake]]s adds a special flavor to role-playing situations.

While most food officially grants no benefits other then a small [[Stamina]] boost when eaten, [[Egg Bomb]]s and [[Enchanted Apple]]s can be of great value in PvP situations. [[Savage Kin Paint]] can also be used to prevent morph spells being used on those who apply it (especially helpful when battling [[Barracoon the Piper]]).

Chefs will often find that they need an [[Stone Oven|Oven]] nearby to create their masterpieces, though in some cases a simple [[Heating Stand]] will suffice. The serious cook will also install a [[Flour Mill]] and [[Water Trough]] in his or her home, and perhaps even hire an [[NPC]] Barkeep [[Vendor]].

Oddly enough, the Cooking skill only has one actual [[Recipe]] scroll - the [[Gingerbread Cookie Recipe]]. With the addition of the Stygian Abyss expansion, a new recipe, [[Bowl of Rotworm Stew]], has been added.

There are a few items available with which to practise your culinary skill. Despite their names and appearances, each is equally suitable for the preparation of any dish.

Buy from an [[NPC]] Baker to around 30, then cook whatever you like!

Barbecued items are recommended. These can be made out of a single piece of meat each, so you can collect more while you're gathering [[Leather]] or out [[Fishing]].

Targeting a stack of meat will cook the entire lot in one go and give much faster gains then cooking one slab at a time. You'll require less meat overall if you take the slow method, however. Going from 0 to 100.0 skill will take about 20,000 Cooking attempts, but your mileage may vary.

==History==
In the past, Cooking used to require a more in-depth knowledge of food ingredients and recipes. There were no usable tools to display a Cooking menu, a player simply used raw food items on heat sources to cook them or on each other to combine ingredients. Additionally, some foods would cook with any heat source, such as a camp fire or heating stand, while many of the baked goods explicitly required an oven.

Many players who did not own houses would cook their goods in town at an NPC bakery or kitchen and then hawk their food at the local bank. Farm fields and fruit orchards would be combed for their harvest as a free way to gather food items. Although uncertain, it was said that being extremely hungry could actually affect skill performance, such as in combat or while crafting, which in turn contributed to a very modest market for cooked foods.

These days, while there are a few food items that impart stat bonuses such as the [[Grapes of Wrath]] or assist in some skills, such as the [[Egg Bomb]], hunger has ''no effect'' on skill performance and most food is simply decorative in player homes or used in [[Roleplaying]]. Aside from [[Savage Kin Paint]] and [[Parrot Wafer]]s, there is little demand for cooked foods.

The quest "A Tangled Web" is provided by the Gray Goblin [[Jaacar]]. In exchange for a bag of treasure, you must kill 12 blood creatures - the known creatures are a [[Bloodworm]] or a [[Blood Elemental]] - any combination of the two will do.

He gives you a barrel (not physical) that you must fill with blood. What does a goblin need a barrel full of blood for? Hmmm.

It does not appear a character may do this quest twice.

Bag of Treasure reward is probably random, but one bag contained 5 amber, 5 tourmaline, a composite bow with low stamina leach, a cap & hat - nothing of real value.

Bad Company is a quest offered by the Gray Goblin [[Jaacar]], in the underworld of the Stygian Abyss. It it not terribly difficult, especially if you have completed the quest [[Neville Brightwhistle]] and obtained the Goblin Slayer talisman that it provides.

The reward for completion of Bad Company is a cooking recipe - Rotworm Stew. You must kill 10 Green Goblins to complete this quest, and only Green Goblin. Green Goblin Mages, Scouts and other professions do not count. "Green Goblins" only.

To begin the quest, find [[Jaacar]] and talk to him to begin the quest dialog. You may have to fight off several goblins in order to get enough peace and quiet to do so.
