'''Europa''' is a European [[shard]] and name nominally means "Europe" in Latin, although many other uses for the same name exist, ranging from a moon of Jupiter to a princess in Greek mythology.

Densely populated but not over-crowded, it has a strong community of role players. It hosts player events and story lines, which in some cases are going on for years.

Red activities are not very common and concentrate mostly on [[Yew]]. The [[Shard]]'s friendly and helpful citizens make it a good starting point for new players.

Curiously, Europa shard went live the same day as the [[Wakoku]] shard, the first and only time multiple new shards came into existence together after Ultima Online's initial launch.

This item can be solved to yield a reward. The puzzle board is found in the [[Underworld]] at coordinates 52o 23'N 17o 47'W. You must navigate a perilous trapped hallway to reach the small room where a strongbox resides. Opening the strongbox will give you a board. You may only have one at a time. Double-clicking the board presents you with the puzzle menu. You have 1800 seconds (30 minutes) to solve before the puzzle expires and board vanishes. You can only attempt this puzzle once per day.

There are a few basic rules that the puzzle follows. While there may be more, these initial rules will help you to solve the puzzles on your own if you do not wish to use the provided solutions.

* Each row consists of 1, 2, 3, or 4 "pegs." A bar is considered 4 pegs.
* If you move a row up into another filled row, it will add its pegs to that row; if you exceed 4 total pegs, the rows will simply swap places.
* If you move a row down into another filled row, it will subtract one peg from each row for the lesser number of pegs (so if you move a row of 4 down into a row of 2, of the 6 total pegs, you will only have 2 left; the lesser row had 2, so a total of 4 pegs are removed).
* A green bar consists of 2 red and 2 blue pegs (but can be built of 4 green pegs).
** Two green pegs consist of 1 red and 1 blue peg (but can also be built of 2 green pegs).
* A blue bar consists of 2 green and 2 red pegs (but can be built of 4 blue pegs).
** Two blue pegs consist of 1 red and 1 green peg (but can also be built of 2 blue pegs).
* A red bar consists of 2 blue pegs and 2 green pegs (but can be built of 4 red pegs).
** Two red pegs consist of 1 green and 1 blue peg (but can also be built of 2 red pegs).
* Only even numbers may be moved up or down into an empty row:
