Markrebath: /* Skill Bonuses from Artifacts */

'''Skill Bonuses''' are mainly found on [[Jewelry]], but also certain [[Artifacts]]. While wearing equipment with a skill bonus, such as 'Taming +15', the wearer's taming skill is increased by the amount stated, e.g. from 95 to 110. Note, that in order for skill bonuses to raise skill over 100 in this way, the wearer must also have the increased skill capacity acquired by use of [[Power Scroll]]s.

==Skill Bonuses from Jewelry==

Skill bonuses on normal, looted jewelry range from 1-15 in intensity, and only exist for certain skills, and in a limited variety of combinations. A piece of jewelry will have at most 5 skills with at most one skill per each of the five following groups. For example, a ring with Animal Lore, Taming, and Magery is possible. But a ring with Provocation, Tactics, and Taming is impossible. Skill bonuses on [[Imbuing|Imbued]] items are also subject to the limitation of 1 skill per group. In fact, this can be used to replace skills from one group with a different skill from the same group e.g. replacing Peacemaking with Healing.

===Skill Group 1===
[[Fencing]], [[Mace Fighting]], [[Swordsmanship]], [[Musicianship]], [[Magery]]

===Skill Group 2===
[[Wrestling]], [[Taming]], [[Spirit Speak]], [[Tactics]], [[Provocation]]

===Skill Group 3===
[[Focus]], [[Parrying]], [[Stealth]], [[Meditation]], [[Animal Lore]], [[Discordance]]

===Skill Group 4===
[[Mysticism]], [[Bushido]], [[Necromancy]], [[Veterinary]], [[Stealing]], [[Anatomy]], [[Evaluating Intelligence]]

===Skill Group 5===
[[Peacemaking]], [[Throwing]], [[Ninjitsu]], [[Chivalry]], [[Archery]], [[Resisting Spells]], [[Healing]]

==Imbuing==
The following resources are required to [[Imbuing|imbue]] the highest intensity of Skill Bonus (+15):
*5 [[Enchanted Essence]]
*10 [[Gem|Star Sapphire]]
*10 [[Crystalline Blackrock]]

Note that you cant put multiple skills from the same skill group on the same item.

==Skill Bonuses from Artifacts==

Skill bonuses from artifacts function identically to skill bonuses from jewelry, but without any particular max on intensity depends on the artifact. For examples see:

* [[Grammar of Orchish]] : +5 Resisting Spells +7 Anatomy

HCI is capped at 45% for all races. However, HCI worn above the cap ''is'' included when calculating the impact of an opponent’s [[Hit Lower Attack]] modified weapon. Therefore, there are benefits to wearing HCI items that total more than your character's cap in certain [[Player vs. Player|player versus player]] combat situations.
== Hit Chance Increase on Shields==
HCI used to occur on non-artifact [[shield]]s, but that is no longer the case. For this reason, the price for such shields is relatively high.

In a discussion of HCI on shields in the [[Five on Friday]] (FoF) of [[Five_on_Friday_-_November_3%2C_2006|November 3, 2006]] (Number 35), developer [[MrTact]] said, "Unless someone gives me a good reason why that property was removed from shields, I see no reason not to put it back." However, the FoF continued by noting that the [[Game Developers|developers]] believe that the way HCI and Hit Lower Attack are implemented needs to be rebalanced. Therefore, the FoF concludes, HCI will not be added back to shields until such balance issues are addressed.

==Imbuing==
The following resources are required to [[Imbuing|imbue]] the highest intensity of Hit Chance Increase (15%):

{{tocright}}
'''Swing Speed Increase''' (SSI) is an item property that increases the rate at which a character uses his or her melee weapon. The rapidity of a character's attack is affected by the [[Weapon Speed|base speed of the weapon]] used, the amount of [[Stamina]] possessed, and the amount of SSI his or her items impart. Barehanded combatants swing at the fastest [[Weapon Speed|Weapon Base Speed]] possible, which is 2.5 seconds or 10 "ticks". Swing speed is never less than 1.25 seconds, or 5 ticks.

==Stamina==
The bonus to a character's swing speed given by Stamina is based on increments of 30, rounded down. And while the maximum Stamina possible is 250, Stamina above 240 grants no further increase in swing speed.

==Caps==
The maximum SSI to be found on a standard weapon is +30%. Some [[artifact]]s have higher SSI, such as the [[Soul Seeker]] and the [[The Berserker's Maul]]. SSI is occasionally found on non-weapons, such as the artifact [[Daimyo's Helm]]. A character’s total SSI is capped at 60%.

==Formula==
In the [[Five on Friday]] of [[Five on Friday - March 9, 2007|March 9, 2007]], the developer Leurocian provided the following formula for determining swing speed. The example provided was based upon a character with 50 Stamina who is swinging a [[Halberd]] with 20 SSI.

#Convert the Weapon Base Speed to ticks by multiplying the speed in seconds of your weapon, which is displayed on the tooltip, by 4. Example, an ''unmodified'' Halberd has a Weapon Base Speed of 4 seconds per swing, which converts to a base speed of 16 ticks.
#Determine the character’s "Stamina Ticks" by dividing the current Stamina by 30. Example, if your current Stamina is 50, then 50/30=1.666, which is rounded down. In this instance, the "Stamina Ticks" are 1.
#Note the total Swing Speed Increase modifier from equipment. Example, 20.

'''Formula:''' ((Base Weapon Speed - Stamina Ticks) * (100.0 / (100 + Swing Speed Increase))) = "x" ticks

'''Example:''' ((16 - 1) * (100.0 / (100 + 20))) = 12 ticks.

When divided by 4, so as to convert ticks back into seconds, the ''modified'' Halberd speed is 3 seconds. Keep in mind that the minimum swing time can never fall below 1.25 seconds.

You can calculate your swing speed from the calculator below:

==Cumulative Caps==
The total Faster Casting your equipment provides is subject to the following maximums.
[[Image:Vine_cord_sandals.png|frame|Vine Cord Sandals on display in the [[Museum of Wonders]] in [[Royal City]], [[Ter Mur]].]]

[[Vine Cord Sandals]] is a single pair of green [[sandals]] that was given out to a player by a [[Seer]] on [[Sonoma]] shard. With the [[Age of Shadows]] expansion, the sandals got some new [[Item Properties|item properties]]. Because of the modifications, it was subject to massive [[duping]]. A pair was offered for sale in early 2008 for $450 U.S. Today, only a single pair is on display in the [[Museum of Wonders]] in [[Royal City]], [[Ter Mur]].

==Controversy==
Initially there was only one pair of sandals. Unfortunately a player with evil intentions got hold of the only pair and proceeded to [[dupe]] them. Other unscrupulous players bought those sandals and duped them. Eventually there were at least a couple dozen in existence.

Players were quite vocal about their existence. For one, they gave quite an advantage having 20 total resistances in an equipment slot that usually carries none. There was also the duping aspect and how people were profiting from their sale. During [[Publish 52]] the developers secretly put and end to it all. Vine Cord Sandals will now lose all special properties if moved or worn. There are none known to exist anymore, including the original pair, except the one on display in [[Museum of Wonders]] in [[Royal City]], [[Ter Mur]]. The official announcement can be found [http://uo.stratics.com/uoherald/news/news.php?newsid=362 here] on the UO website.
They were subsequently made available for a few other 'Treasures' events that followed. However, beginning with the [[Treasures of the Undead Lords]] that released with [[Publish 109]], they were made to be [[Shard Bound]], and these later versions cannot be transferred with any [[Character Transfer]] tokens. This makes the original versions more valuable since they do not have these restrictions.
[[Luck]] is an [[Item Properties|item property]] found on various equippable items. Luck stacks across all items that a character has equipped to make up their Luck score, which can be viewed on the [[Character Status Menu]]. This Luck score can then be augmented by various temporary Luck boosts from other sources.

A character's total Luck is used when loot is spawned on creature corpses. It gives a chance of there being a greater amount of loot, a chance of a greater number of properties on said loot, and a chance that those properties will be of greater intensity. It should be noted, however, that this is only a ''chance'' of more and better loot, and that Luck has no direct affect on what specific items will spawn and what specific properties will spawn on those items.

Luck has the following effects based on [[Publish 86]]:

*Loot obtained from monsters, SoS Chests, Treasure Chests, Dredging Hooks, and as Quest Rewards will be influenced by the luck of the individual getting the loot.
*Loot obtained from Dungeon Chests and Khaldun Puzzle Chests will have loot influenced with a random luck value between 0 and 240.
*Loot generated in Felucca has a 1000 point luck bonus applied to it, as well as bonuses to budgets used in item property generation.

In the past there were information about the fact, that there is a cap of impact. The devs answered on Drachenfels on April 1st 2015 that for some calculations of loot there is one, and for others not. They will supply a list someday.

==Calculators==

===Luck to Chance===
Just input the amount of Luck you have into the text box, then press the "Calculate >>" button or hit the Enter or Return key on your keyboard to display the percentage chance you have to get more and better loot.

{{Calculator|LuckToChance}}

===Chance to Luck===
Just input the percentage chance of more and better loot you would like to achieve into the text box, then press the "Calculate >>" button or hit the Enter or Return key on your keyboard to display the amount of Luck required to achieve your goal.

{{Calculator|ChanceToLuck}}

==Effects==

===Normal Loot===

====The Roll====
Normal loot that spawns on creature corpses, other than gold and a few other special items, is generated upon the death of the creature, not before. Upon the death of the creature, a roll is made against the Luck of the character who did the most damage, I.e. "the top attacker," on a scale of 0-99 in order to determine whether there is a loot increase. The process can be explained in the following steps:
# The [[Random Number Generator|RNG]] generates a number from 0-99.
# The top attacker's Luck is evaluated to determine their percentage (%) chance value, which is derived from the equation:{{Line Break}}<math>Chance = Luck^{\frac{5}{9}}\!</math>{{Line Break}}(This equation is explained fully in the [[Luck#The Math|Math]] section below.)
# This percentage (%) chance value is then rounded to a whole number.
# The rounded percentage (%) chance value is then compared against the number generated by the [[Random Number Generator|RNG]] as follows:
#* If (Luck percentage (%) chance value > RNG value)<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Increase loot<br />Else<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Do not increase loot

* Example: The [[Random Number Generator|RNG]] rolls a 30. The top attacker's Luck is evaluated and results in a rounded percentage (%) chance value of 56. 56 > 30, so the loot is increased.

This roll applies to all loot that is spawned, even that which is given to other attackers in their own instanced corpses; the top attacker's Luck applies to everyone.

====Number of Items====
Each type of creature in the game has its loot determined by predefined loot tables that dictate both the type of loot available and the number of items that can spawn. The number of items that spawn on a particular creature's corpse is a random number in the range of one (1) to a maximum number as defined in that creature's loot table. When a creature is killed, if the roll made against the top attacker's Luck score is successful, the number of items spawned on the creature's corpse will be increased by one (1), unless this new amount would be greater than that creature's loot amount cap.
* Example: A particular creature's loot amount cap is 10 items. A character with high Luck kills the creature, the game rolls against the character's Luck score, and the roll is in favor of the character. The game rolls and decides to spawn 10 items on the corpse, which is increased by 1 from the top attacker's Luck roll, resulting in 11 items being spawned. However, this is greater than the creature's loot amount cap of 10 items, so only 10 items spawn, instead of 11.

====Number of Item Properties====
In the same way that creature loot tables define the number of items that drop on a particular creature's corpse, they also define the number of properties that can spawn on those items. The number of properties that spawn on an item that is dropped by a particular creature is a random number in the range of one (1) to a maximum number as defined in that creature's loot table. When an item is spawned on a creature's corpse, if the roll made against the top attacker's Luck score is successful, the number of properties spawned on the item will be increased by one (1), unless this new amount would be greater than that creature's loot amount cap.
* Example: A particular creature's cap on the number of properties per item is 3 properties. A character with high Luck kills the creature, the game rolls against the character's Luck score, and the roll is in favor of the character. The game rolls and decides to put 3 properties on the first item spawned on the corpse, which is increased by 1 from the top attacker's Luck roll, resulting in a total of 4 properties to be spawned on the item. However, this is greater than the creature's cap of 3 on the number of properties per item, so only 3 properties spawn on the item, instead of 4.

====Item Property Intensities====
Creature loot tables also define the range of intensity of item properties on items that drop on various creature corpses. The intensity of a property on an item dropped by a particular creature is a random number within a range which is a subset of the entire range of a particular property. When a property is spawned on an item on a creature's corpse, if the roll made against the top attacker's Luck score is successful, the property's intensity will be increased by 10% of the property's overall maximum value, unless this new amount would be greater than the top end of the possible intensity range of that creature.
* Example: The overall range for a particular property is 1 to 50. A particular creature's item property intensity range is 0.25 to 0.3, which results in possible values of that property of 13, 14, or 15. A character with high Luck kills the creature, the game rolls against the character's Luck score, and the roll is in favor of the character. The game spawns a weapon on the creature's corpse with that property with an initial value of 14, which is increased by 10% of the overall maximum value of 50 (5), resulting in a property value of 19. However, this is greater than the creature's cap of 15, so the property is capped at 15, instead of being set to the full 19.

===The Gauntlet===
('''Editor:''' This section is not really accurate anymore. The Gauntlet now uses the Treasures of Tokuno points system, so the following info is probably only a shadow of the truth, if that. This will be changed in the future when further information becomes available.)

When a boss dies in the [[Doom#Gauntlet|Doom Gauntlet]] there is a certain chance that an artifact will be created. This chance is influenced by the Luck of the top attacker, and can be derived from the following equation:
: <math>NC=C-\frac{\sqrt{L}*C}{100}\!</math>
* NC = New Chance for an Artifact to be Created
* C = Chance (1 in C) for an Artifact to be Created
* L = Luck of the Top Attacker

Example: Suppose there is a 1 in 20 (5%) chance that an artifact will be generated when the Dark Father is killed, and the Luck of the top attacker is 900.
# <math>NC=20-\frac{\sqrt{900}*20}{100}\!</math>
# <math>NC=20-\frac{30 * 20}{100}\!</math>
# <math>NC=20-\frac{600}{100}\!</math>
# <math>NC=20-6\!</math>
# <math>NC=14\!</math>
The new chance for an artifact to be generated is 1 in 14 (~7.1%). If, based on this new percentage chance, an artifact is actually generated, it is then distributed randomly amongst all players that receive looting rights.

===Other===
[[Artifacts (Virtue)|Virtue Artifact]] drops in the [[Anti-Virtue Dungeons]] are affected by Luck. It is believed that this may use the same points-based system as [[Doom#Gauntlet|The Gauntlet]] and [[Treasures of Tokuno]], but this has yet to be confirmed.

The chance of finding a [[Niter]] deposit while mining is positively affected by Luck, but the specific formulas for this effect are currently unknown.

[[Power Scrolls]] that drop from [[Champion Spawns]] are not affected whatsoever by the Luck of any attacker, and are generated and distributed randomly amongst all players that receive looting rights.

The drop rates of [[Artifacts (ML)|Mondain's Legacy Artifacts]] are positively affected by Luck.

[[Artifacts (Peerless)|Peerless Artifacts]] are not affected by Luck, but are instead governed by individual static drop rates.

The [[Imbuing]] system does not take Luck into account when calculating the chance-for-success of Imbuing a property onto an item.

Rewards from [[Quests]], frequently referred to collectively as "strongboxes," are not affected by Luck in any way.

==Sources==

===Equipment===

====Crafted====
Armor, shields, or weapons can be made from or enhanced by [[Ingot#Metal Types|golden ingots]], [[Leather|spined leather]], [[Dragon Scales#Scale Types|yellow dragon scales]], or [[Board#Wood Types|oak boards]], depending on the type of item, in order to gain or increase the Luck property. Using [[Ingot#Metal Types|golden ingots]], [[Leather|spined leather]], or [[Board#Wood Types|oak boards]] will either give an item the Luck property with a default value of 40, or, if the item already possesses the Luck property, will increase it by 40. [[Dragon Scales#Scale Types|Yellow dragon scales]] can be used to craft pieces of [[Dragon Armor]], each with a default amount of 20 Luck. Newly created armor of any type that is crafted with [[Runic Tools]] has a chance to be created with the Luck property with a value up to 100, which stacks with any material-related Luck bonuses.

The types of items that can be crafted or enhanced with the Luck property are listed below, categorized by material type:
* [[Ingot#Metal Types|Golden Ingots]] (+40): [[Ringmail Armor]], [[Chainmail Armor]], [[Platemail Armor]], [[Platemail Samurai Armor]], metal [[Shields]], metal [[Weapons]]
* [[Leather|Spined Leather]] (+40): [[Leather Armor]], [[Leather Ninja Armor]], [[Leather Samurai Armor]], [[Leaf Armor]], [[Studded Armor]], [[Studded Samurai Armor]], [[Hide Armor]], [[Bone Armor]]
* [[Board#Wood Types|Oak Boards]] (+40): [[Woodland Armor]], [[Wooden Shield]], [[Archery#Weapons|Bows]]
* [[Dragon Scales#Scale Types|Yellow Dragon Scales]] (+20): [[Dragon Armor]]

Armor, shields, and weapons can spawn on monster corpses with the Luck property, with values up to and including 100. These items can then be enhanced with [[Ingot#Metal Types|golden ingots]], [[Leather|spined leather]], or [[Board#Wood Types|oak boards]], depending on their material type, thus allowing them to have up to 140 Luck.

====Imbued====
The following resources are required to [[Imbuing|Imbue]] the highest intensity of Luck (100):
* 5 [[Magical Residue]]
* 10 [[Gem|Citrine]]
* 10 [[Chaga Mushroom]]

====Reforged====
Runic reforging can grant 150 luck on armor, shields, and non-ranged weapons vs. 170 luck on ranged weapons. This is not a guaranteed amount, but a maximum and rarer instance. The more common result will be up to 100 on the first group and 120 on ranged weapons. Runic tools to get this high luck are:
* Horned
* Copper
* Ash
The imbuer would select Powerful Re-forging (but none of the other options in the top selection of the reforging menu) and then all 4 of the lower choices (Grand, Inspired, Exalted & Sublime). Next choices are:
* Choose Name #1: Auspicious / of Fortune
* Choose Name #2: - be sure to select something matching a desired category, because otherwise it will be randomly assigned.

====Artifacts====
Some artifacts and other items spawn, have spawned, or can be crafted, with a default amount of Luck on them.
** Enhanced Version - Luck 140
* The Wild's Call - Luck 100

===The Sphynx===
A minor bonus can be obtained from the [[Sphynx]] located in the [[Forgotten Pyramid]]. A player can pay the [[Sphynx]] 5000 gold to "tell them their fortune." If, after giving the [[Sphynx]] the 5000 gold, it responds "Fate smiles upon you this day." your character will receive a 24-hour boost of 1 to 80 Luck.

===Perfection===
The [[Bushido]] ability [[Perfection]] also results in a Luck bonus. A character with at least 50 [[Bushido]] skill can [[Honor]] a creature and then attempt to hit that creature as many times in a row as they can. The character receives a score based on the number of consecutive hits achieved and is then rewarded a Luck bonus equal to ten percent of the square of this score. The maximum score is 100, thus the maximum Luck bonus from [[Perfection]] is 100^2 x 10% = 1000.

===10th Anniversary Sculpture===
The [[10th Anniversary Sculpture]], when double-clicked while in a character's backpack or locked down in a house, grants a character an hour-long bonus consisting of a base 200 Luck plus 50 Luck for each year in the age of the account that the character is on.

==The Math==
Luck is evaluated in the context of a logarithmic equation, which is frequently referred to colloquially as "diminishing returns." It is true that your Luck chance will increase the more Luck you have, but it is not a linear increase. The more Luck you have, the more you need to add to it to experience increases in your Luck chance.
* Example: To have a 10% Luck chance, you need approximately 63.1 Luck. One would assume that to have a 20% Luck chance, you would need 63.1 x 2 = 126.2 Luck, but this is not the case. To have a 20% Luck chance you would actually need approximately 219.7 Luck.

Luck's logarithmic equation is as follows:
: <math>L=C^{\frac{9}{5}}\!</math>
* L = Luck Required
* C = Chance to Raise Loot Level.

One can substitute the percentage chance that they wish to achieve for the variable C, and thus derive the amount of Luck required to achieve it, L.

Example: You wish to obtain a 50% chance of more and better loot. The Luck required to do this is:
: <math>50^\frac{9}{5}=1143.26262...\!</math>
Or, rounding up because Luck only exists in integer amounts, 1144.

If one wishes to derive the chance to raise loot level, C, that they have based on their current level of Luck, L, the equation can be solved for C as follows:
# <math>L=C^{\frac{9}{5}}\!</math>
# <math>\ln{L}=\frac{9}{5}*ln{C}\!</math>
# <math>\frac{\ln{L}}\frac{9}{5}=\ln{C}\!</math>
# <math>e^{\frac{\ln{L}}\frac{9}{5}}=e^{\ln{C}}\!</math>
# <math>e^{\frac{\ln{L}}\frac{9}{5}}=C\!</math>
# <math>e^{\ln{L}*\frac{1}\frac{9}{5}}=C\!</math>
# <math>e^{\ln{L}*\frac{5}{9}}=C\!</math>
# <math>e^{\ln{L}^\frac{5}{9}}=C\!</math>
# <math>L^\frac{5}{9}=C\!</math>

This equation is then quite easy to solve.

Example: Your suit gives you 1500 Luck. Your chance to get more and better loot is:
: <math>1500^\frac{5}{9}= 58.14269...\!</math>
Or approximately 58%.

==Maximum Luck==
There is frequently much debate and mathematical figuring going on within the community about what the maximum attainable Luck is for a single character. This debate is usually reignited every time a new item is introduced into the game that has a high amount of Luck on it, and results in several different answers, depending on whether or not you include event items, Luck granted by the [[10th Anniversary Sculpture]], samurai [[Perfection]] or crafting bonuses like [[Runic Re-Forging]], [[Forged Metal Of Artifacts]], etc.

Just counting items that currently spawn in-game or are relatively easy to craft, the current maximum Luck that a single character can achieve is as follows:

* [[Head Slot]]: ''[[Reforged]]'' cap ''[[enhanced]]'' with [[Spined Leather|spined leather]] or [[Golden Ingot|golden ingots]] - Luck 190
* [[Neck Slot]]: [[Leurocian's Mempo of Fortune]] - Luck 300 (490)
* [[Chest Slot]]: [[Armor of Fortune]] - 200 (690)
* [[Legs Slot]]: ''Reforged'' leggings ''enhanced'' with spined leather or golden ingots - Luck 190 (880)
* [[Arms Slot]]: ''Reforged'' sleeves ''enhanced'' with spined leather or golden ingots - Luck 190 (1070)
* [[Right Hand Slot]]: ''Reforged'' weapon ''enhanced'' with golden ingots - Luck 190 (1450)
* [[Left Hand Slot]]: ''Reforged'' shield ''enhanced'' with golden ingots - Luck 190 (1640)
* [[Ring Slot]]: [[compassion's Eye]] - Luck 250 (1890)
* [[Bracelet Slot]]: [[Bracelet of Primal Consumption]] - Luck 200 (2090)
* [[Robe Slot]]: [[Conjurer's Garb]] - Luck 140 (2230)
* [[Footwear Slot]]: [[Minax's Sandals]] - Luck 150 (2380)
* [[Talisman]]: [[Lucky Charm]] - Luck 150 (2530)

* ''Total'': '''2530''' Luck

If you then add in the Luck bonus from the [[10th Anniversary Sculpture]], which is a base 200 Luck plus 50 Luck for each year of account age, thus resulting in a maximum attainable amount of 1450 Luck (on a 25-year-old account), the total becomes:
* Total: 2530 + 1450 = '''3980''' Luck

If you then add in the maximum Luck bonus obtainable from the [[Sphynx]], the total becomes:
* Total: 3980 + 80 = '''4060''' Luck

Finally, if you possess the [[Bushido]] skill, [[Honor]] your intended target, and then achieve [[Perfection]], you will be granted a 1000 Luck bonus. Adding this to what we already have, the total becomes:
* Total: 4060 + 1000 = '''5060''' Luck

Logically, however, no matter how high the Maximum Luck number grows over time as new and better items and abilities are introduced into the game, the highest Luck that will ever be useful will be the amount of Luck required to have a 100% chance of more and better loot. By the Luck equation in the last section, we can easily determine this number:
: <math>L=100^\frac{5}{9}=3981.071705...\!</math>
Or, rounding up because Luck exists only in integer amounts, '''3982''' Luck.
'''Treasures of Fey Wrath''' was an event that ran in dungeon [[Destard]] during the Spring of 2022. It was the ninth 'Treasures Of' event to take place, utilizing the same rules as the previous structure of turn-in points awarded for monster kills, identical to the [[Castle Blackthorn Dungeon]] Minax Artifact system.

In addition to turning in dungeon drops for points, there was a second NPC trader named '''The Curio Collector''' posted just outside of Destard. At his table could a player trade their collected [[Easter Eggs]] for his [[Ingots of Fey Wrath]]. Each ingot was worth (1) trade-in point; the same as the dungeon drops.

==Objective==
The denizens killed within dungeon Destard during the event had a chance of dropping items marked as an '''Artifact of Fey Wrath''', which could be turned in to the NPC at the entrance for a variety of rewards. This NPC also acted as a healer to resurrect those who died within the dungeon.

All items spawned during this event were [[Shard Bound]], restricting them to their originating shard only. '''Spell Damage Increase''' (SDI) is an [[item property]] that increases the damage of most magical attacks that are cast. This property is capped at 25% in [[PVP]] provided you dont have more than 30% of a skill in two different spell lines or [[Animal Taming]] or [[Parry]]. Then, you will become "focused" to that spell line and can display it from your titles menu, under overhead name, skills. So, if you have [[Imbuing]], [[mysticism]] and [[focus]] you can be a focused mystic, but not if you have [[mysticism]] and 31 in [[evaluating intelligence]]. It's noteworthy that [[chivalry]] is amongst the magical lines even though it has no spell affected by SDI. So, if you have 120 [[magery]] and 120 [[chivalry]], you won't be a focused mage. If you are not eligible to be focused, then your SDI pvp cap will be 20%.
For [[PvE]] there is no cap on spell damage, so pack it on.

There is no formula needed for Spell Damage Increase because it is a true conversion, a 10% increase means your spell damage is increased 10% and so on. The intensity range of the Spell Damage Increase item property is 1% to 18% for found rings and bracelets. The apparent maximum is 50% for special items (e.g., [[Shattered Obelisk Invasion|Shattered Obelisk Invasion Spellbook]]).

==Qualifiers==
As with most code over time, Spell Damage Increase is not as straight-forward as it seems. It does affect [[Poison Strike]] and [[Wither]], but it does not affect [[Pain Spike]] or [[Holy Light]]. It works with [[Word of Death]], as the spell is not dependent on a secondary ability check, ''e.g.'' like Pain Spike, which involves [[Spirit Speak]], or Holy Light, which involves [[Karma]].

==Calculating Spell Damage==
* A character's skill level of [[evaluating intelligence]] is the first thing that comes into play in calculating the [[magery]] base spell damage. The formula for how much spell damage your getting from your Evaluating Intelligence is this: ((evaluating intelligence * 3) / 100) + 1.
* Similar with [[Spirit Speak]] for [[Necromancy Spells]] and [[Focus]] or [[Imbuing]] for [[Mysticism|Mysticism Spells]], [[Arcane Focus]] for [[Spellweaving|Spellweaving Spells]].
* The next factor involved in spell damage is [[intelligence]]. The formula for this is 1% spell damage increase for every 10 points of intelligence, or (intelligence / 10) and drop the decimals.
* [[Spellweaving]] spells [[Arcane Empowerment]] and [[Reaper Form]] increase spell damage.
* A bards [[Inspire]] (giving SDI) & [[Invigorate]] (giving intelligence) buffs the spell damage and too.
* [[Races#Berserk|Berserk]] ability of the gargoyle race may increase SDI (up to 12%).
* Getting the [[City_Loyalty#Trade_Deals_Include|Guild of Arcane Arts trade deal city buff]] increases the SDI value by 5%
* [[Inscription]] Skill bonus. This is a 10% increase in the base damage for [[Magery Spells]]. (This bonus only takes effect when a character has achieved the level of Grandmaster or higher in Inscription.)
* Being cursed by a target's [[Blood Oath]].
* Factor in any SDI imparted from items.
* Factor the use of a Slayer spellbook property matching the target.
* Don't forget the well timed usage of an [[Spell Focusing Sash]].
* Last but not least, the [[Summer Dragonfish Pie]] gives a straight +5 spell damage and the [[Grapes of Wrath]] gives +15 spell damage.

On the other hand factor in resist lowering and additional damage received issues on the target like:

* [[Discordance]]
* [[Evil Omen]]
* [[Corpse Skin]]
