Virtue Menu

Nasher:

The Virtue Menu in KR is very user friendly. It is accessed by clicking on Virtues on the Menu bar of your main screen. By clicking on a virtue in the list you are given a description of the virtue and can see the current level of your virtue displayed as a number out of 10 for each level until you have gained the maximum level (e.g., 6/10 or 10/10).

There are three levels to each virtue, Seeker, Follower and Knight. At the time of writing not all the virtues are active. At present, as in 2D, you may only study the virtues in: Sacrifice, Compassion, Valor, Honor and Justice.

The only difference to the display from 2D is there doesn't appear to be an easy 'view' by color as to your current level, and you must look at the virtue in the list to see where you are.

Hints
* The gold virtue button (as indicated by the Heart Icon in the above Sacrifice gump) maybe dragged off to add to macro command boxes, or just placed in a hotbar (as shown above) for 'one click' access. If your character only uses a couple of them then that is all you need to use (e.g., if your character uses the Honor virtue a lot then drag the Cup shaped one to your hotbar; clicking on it once will give you a target cursor).

* For More information on the Virtues, click the 'MORE' button and a web browser will open the page at http://www.uo.com. For example, clicking 'MORE' on the Sacrifice virtue will open the page giving detail on the philosophy of the virtue and how to 'use' it in game, Sacrifice Virtue.

In UO, reputation is the title given on your paperdoll. It is based on a two variable system: Karma and Fame. Your reputation can matter greatly in some specific circumstances. For example, most NPCs will not interact with characters that have the lowest level of karma.

Reputation replaced the earlier notoriety system, which was less complex and was subject to certain odd vagaries. However, the term "notoriety" survives in some circles, for example, the out-of-date phrase noto killer remains in fairly common use.
Sometimes the only thing that stands between an adventurer and fabulous wealth is a simple lock. When confronted with a locked chest, the Lockpicking skill is one you are sure to need.
Training
* 0 - 30: Train at NPC Thief or Tinker
Either use a lockpicking house or create your own boxes. It is best to fill a backpack with 20 boxes each and put all keys for that bag on a Keyring. You will need approximately 100 boxes of each type to ensure enough targets. If you don't gain on one box, you need to gain on another before returning to that one.
* 30 - 50: Pick locked boxes made by 50 skill Tinkerer
* 50 - 70: Pick locked boxes made by 70 skill Tinkerer
* 70 - 95: Pick locked boxes made by 100 skill Tinkerer
After 95 skill there are 2 different ways to reach Grandmaster.
* Method 1: Pick level 4 chests in dungeons or do level 4 Treasure Maps.
* Method 2: Go to Twisted Weald and bring a Satyr over near the entrance/exit teleporter. Attack the Satyr and wait until you under the effect of its Discordance. When your skills drop jump into the sparkle teleporter and start picking boxes. When your skills return to normal repeat the process. You should reach Grandmaster in a couple hours.
