A scale collar is used to aid in taming a battle chicken once hatched. When used and targeted on a chicken it will either be paralyzed in place or its stamina will be completely drained forcing it to walk slowly. The effect should be temporary to give the players a chance to tame it.

A scale collar is used to aid in taming a battle chicken once hatched. When used and targeted on a chicken it will either be paralyzed in place or its stamina will be completely drained forcing it to walk slowly. The effect should be temporary to give the players a chance to tame it.

To craft this item you must be a tinker with atleast 50 skill and have 4 scales and 1 scourge.
This item also requires the Stygian Abyss expansion to craft.

Bracelets of Binding are dropped as uncommon loot by [[Solen Queen]]s. Once "linked" to another bracelet, they may be used to teleport a player wearing one linked bracelet to the location of another.

The bracelets must be recharged on occasion using [[Translocation Powder]]. There is no known limit to the number of charges they can have at any given time (1,000+ at least, be wary about dropping your entire pile of powder onto them), and it is also unknown as to whether they become "saturated" like [[Bag of Sending|Bags of Sending]].

To use them you must set a pair up. Both must be on a player and are tested as a recall spell to the other bracelet. Normal recall rules apply - if you cant cast recall or recall to your target then you cant use it. You also cant use it if they are not on your bracelet slot. The bracelet cannot be used if a player is standing in a player home.

'''Seeds''' are small items that can be used for growing '''Plants''' via [[Gardening]]. They each [[Weight|weigh]] one [[stone]] and can be stacked. Seeds are initially gained as [[loot]] from certain creatures, but most varieties are grown by breeding multiple generations of plants.

Certain older or bugged seeds that do not stack can be made stackable with use of the [[Gardener's Toolbox]].

 
==Breedable Plants==
Certain creatures drop Plain, Red, Blue or Yellow seeds. Seeds obtained via combat always produce plants of one of three varieties:

Such seeds will be named according to their color (eg "Red Seed"), however if a plant is grown and then bred with ''itself'' it will produce ''descriptive'' seeds of the same type (eg "Red Tribarrel Cactus Seed").

Breeding different combinations of these seeds together can produce more colors and plant varieties. Any plant that provides seeds can produce a total of eight over it's lifetime.

==Mutant Plants==
Mutants are grown from specially coloured seeds, but cannot be bred and do not produce more. They are typically obtained by completing the [[Naturalist Quest]], and come in aqua, pink, magenta, black, white and fire red.

Any plant that can produce seeds (aside from the [[Cocoa Tree]]) also has a chance of producing black or white mutants instead of the color they normally would. Such seeds are very rare.

Seeds obtained via the quest will be of the same type as [[#Breedable Plants|breedable]] or [[#Peculiar Plants|peculiar]] plants.

 

==Bonsai Plants==
With the advent of [[Ultima Online: Samurai Empire]], certain creatures in the [[Tokuno Islands]] have a chance of dropping special Bonsai seeds. The seed name corresponds to the names listed below.
For example, an uncommon bonsai comes from an uncommon seed. There are eight varieties:

==Peculiar Plants==
Peculiar seeds began appearing with [[Publish 55]] and can grow 16 new plant varieties (one of which comes in two facings, for a total of 17). These plants cannot be cross-pollinated and do not produce new seeds nor resources. Instead, they are only dropped by certain monsters.

It was initially decided that no coloured Peculiar plants would be available, but due to a bug which caused the [[Naturalist Quest]] to produce nothing ''but'' coloured Peculiar Cactus plants, [[Publish 56]] will make both [[#Breedable Plants|standard]] and peculiar plants available from the same quest.

The seeds are divided into four groups of four (except for Group 1 which has 5 seeds so there is a 20% chance of receiving each seed) which are each dropped by three monsters. For example, if you want to get a twisted Cypress Tree you must kill monsters from the second group. As the seeds are unlabeled either have to wait until the seed reaches the 7th stage of growth or use the resource poppies dust to identify the seed type. Assuming you harvested from the correct monster, you have a 20% change of receiving the seed in Group 1 you are after and a 25% chance for the seeds in all other groups.

==Cocoa Trees (Fragrant Seeds)==

Fragrants seeds began appearing with [[Publish 55]] and are used to grow the [[Cocoa Tree]], which in turn can not be cross-pollinated.

Whenever a creature would drop a [[#Peculiar Plants|Peculiar seed]], there is a chance a Fragrant seed will be dropped instead. They are hence collected from the same creatures but at a lower drop rate. Unlike peculiar plants, they do grow further Cocoa Tree Seeds.

In addition they produce [[Cocoa Pulp]], a consumable resource used by [[Cooking|cooks]] as a key ingredient to create chocolate confection preparations, namely [[Cocoa Butter]] and [[Cocoa Liquor]].

The Chocolatiering branch of the [[Cooking]] skill was introduced with [[Publish 50]] on [[Valentines 2008|St. Valentine's Day 2008]] but cocoa pulp and cocoa trees did not appear until [[Publish 55]], nearly 6 months later.

'''Fame''' is one of two variables in the [[Reputation Title System]], the other being [[Karma]]. Fame also is required to pursue the [[Virtue System|Virtue]] of [[Sacrifice]].

When fame is mentioned in reference to monsters, it is a commodity. Just as with gold, the tougher the monster, the higher the monster's level of fame, and the greater the amount of fame earned by the character who kills it. All creatures, both animals and monsters, have a predetermined amount of fame. A [[Balron]] has a fame of Level 5. Its actual fame amount is 24,000. A [[Dragon]] also has a fame of Level 5, but its actual fame is far less, at 15,000. It is suggested that a character that is seeking fame should note such differences.

When fame is mentioned in reference to player characters, it refers to an aspect of the Reputation Title System. Fame runs an open-ended range from 0 to 10,000 and above. Within that range is an exponential scale, as shown in Table 1. As the fame scale is exponential, it becomes increasingly more difficult to gain a higher level. Fame is not earned on a one-for-one basis; killing a single Balron will not grant the character 24,000 points. Only a small portion of a creature's fame transferred to the warrior that vanquished it. Fame can be calculated by the following ''approximate'' formula:

Ostensibly, fame is the visual component of the Reputation Title System. With a fame of Level 5, the title "Lord" or "Lady" is added to the character's name. The title appears in the [[Paperdoll]], when approaching from off-screen, and after the use of the '''allnames''' command. Karma has no influence over the off-screen and allnames title, while the Paperdoll shows both the fame and karma titles. '''Bard Masteries''' are special abilities came with the [[Publish 66]] that can be obtained by completing [[The Beacon of Harmony]] quest for the [[Peacemaking]] abilities, [[Indoctrination of a Battle Rouser]] quest for the [[Provocation]] abilities or [[Wielding the Sonic Blade]] quest for the [[Discordance]] abilities. [[Book of Bard Masteries]] will be rewarded upon quest completion containing the mastery abilities.

Once a mastery has been choosen, the abilities are freely usable at any time and only have as requirements the skills (Both musicianship and the Mastery Skill must be above 90.0) and mana costs. For the abilities to work, the party must remain within range of the Bard to remain under its effects. Bards may be interrupted when they receive damage while using their abilities. A bard may only have one ability in effect at a time and the abilities do not stack with themselves. All abilities require '''Upkeep''' (required [[Mana]] per second for the spellsong to be active) dependent on how many are being affected by the ability and will not check for criminal flagging.

As of [[Publish 67]], bard spell songs are no longer interrupted by spellcasting. As of [[Publish 73]] PvM Damage now has a chance to interrupt based on damage amount. Bards with either provocation or peacemaking mastery can have both their mastery spell songs active at the same time and Bards with secondary bard skills above GM (Real Skill) receive a slightly reduced mana cost for spell song upkeep. Furthermore, Bards with any mastery get a 5% bonus to their success chance at using any bard skills and a 10% bonus to using the skill of their mastery focus. All bard songs receive a slight bonus to their effects if the bard has additional bard skills over GM (Real Skill). Bard skill timeout is 8 seconds and having a bard mastery reduces all Bard skill timeouts by 1 second with an additional second for the skill of the mastery focus.

*Stronger effects are given with more barding skills. If another barding skill is at 100, 110, or 120 you gain an extra 'point'. These will give your spellsongs little more effect.

The '''Twisted Weald''' is a [[dungeon]] that is located in [[Ilshenar]]. The entrance is West of [[Spirituality Moongate]], inside a cave of mushrooms.

Entering the dungeon requires that one either be on, or have completed, the [[Lorekeeper Calendor the Keeper of Tradition|Dread Horn quest from Lorekeeper Calendor]], who is located in elfin City of [[Heartwood city|Heartwood]]. The Twisted Weald is accessed by traveling west along the mountains from the Shrine of [[Spirituality]] to the vine-covered entrance of the Mushroom Cave. To the north of the cave is a sparkling portal to the forsaken realm.

The attractions of the Dungeon include the "[[Twisted Glade Champion Spawn]]," the [[Peerless]] monster [[Dread Horn]], and the following [[Monsters#Named_Monsters|named]] minor bosses: [[Gnaw]]; [[Guile]]; [[Irk]]; [[Malefic]]; [[Silk]]; [[Spite]]; [[Swoop]]; and [[Virulent]]. Swoop, a purple eagle, was a popular gold farming spot until quite recently.

Adventurers enter the dungeon by passing between a narrow gap in the bramble covered trees. Thorns bite into boots and entangle feet. Vast spider webs cling to players slowing their movement and drawing the attention of the arachnids who make this area their home.''
==The Twisted Weald: A Dungeon in 3 Parts==
There are 3 main parts of this dungeon.

First, one encounters the [[Champion Spawn|champ spawn]] area, populated mainly by "good" monsters such as pixies. This [[Champion Spawn|champ spawn]] is of the following type: [[Twisted Glade Champion Spawn|Twisted Glade Spawn]] (unofficial name). Swoop's nesting site marks the transition to the "evil" areas.

Next, there is a narrow, twisty maze of quicksand. Your character can only move at walking speed through this area. [[Cu Sidhe]]s spawn in the quicksand maze.

Finally, the quicksand maze opens up into a deadly swamp. Do not step on the watery parts, unless you want to spawn several very dangerous spiders. The spiders that spawn from disturbing the waters do not contain the keys needed to challenge Dread Horn, though there ''is'' a quest that requires you to kill them.

==The Dread Horn Keys==
Like all Peerlesses, there are keys with timers (long timers, but timers none-the-less) on them, that need to be acquired. These keys are then exchanged for a "main key," which also has a timer on it (a VERY short one).

The keys needed to challenge Dread Horn are as follows.

The following keys are located in the swampy area:

* [[Sabrix's Eye]] (kill Lady Sabrix, a spider boss);
* [[Irk's Brain]] (kill Irk, a changeling boss);
* [[Lissith's Silk]] (kill Lady Lissith, a spider boss); and
* [[Blighted Cotton]] (greenish cotton plant, just pick it up from the swamp floor).

The following keys are located in the quicksand maze:

* [[Gnaw's Fang]] (kill Gnaw, a dire wolf boss that is located in the cave at the end of the "quicksand" area); and
* The [[Thorny Briar]] (purpleish thorn bush, just pick it up from the quicksand floor).

These keys are then exchanged for the main key, titled '''Essence of Wind''', at the Statue of the Fey that is located in some ruins at the southeast corner of the swampy area.

== Fighting Dread Horn ==
* Dread Horn is a large, corrupted [[unicorn]].
* It poisons and it hits moderately hard. Watch out for how it singles out a target, poisons it, and pursues it no matter how much damage is done to distract it.
* Every kind of skill template can do OK against Dread Horn.
* It seems to be weak to physical damage.
* If you are a swordsman, the [[Breath of the Dead]] is a great weapon to use, because the [[Hit Life Leech]], if you can hit consistently, can nullify Dread Horn's poison attacks.

== Creatures ==
* [[Changeling]]s are pixie-like beings who can change their appearance and fighting style to mirror those of their enemies.
* [[Cu Sidhe]]s are large, tameable dog-like creatures.
* [[Dryad]]s are tree spirits. They can calm everyone near them, preventing fighting or magic casting.
* [[Satyr]]s are classical greek Satyrs that have the barding ability of discord. Satyrs are located in the quicksand maze.

* [[Irk]] is a Changeling mini-boss, Irk's Brain is one of the items needed to teleport your party to Dread Horn's Island.
* [[Dread Horn]], a powerful evil unicorn, is the [[Peerless]] boss of the Weald. Dread Horn can infect you with a powerful poison. If you try to attack Dread Horn from a distance or with pets, you will occasionally be teleported to within the foul creature's reach.

== Champion Spawn ==
* The first "level" of this dungeon (the area before the quicksand maze) is a champion spawn similar to [[Lord Oaks]], but harder.
* The Champion is [[Twaulo of the Glade]].

==Misc Tips ==
* Stepping in the swamp water tiles where Irk, Guile, and other named bosses reside will spawn several (4-6?) spiders that auto-target you.
* It is possible to cast [[Energy Vortex|Energy Vortexes]] from the [[moongate]] into the main named boss spawn area.
* Changeling Paragons are deadly, period. They are much faster and have the standard paragon boost to hit points. If you can lure one down to the champion spawn altar, the 'good' aligned spawn will eventually kill it.
* Gnaw is particularly easy for an Animal Tamer to farm, but the loot is not substantial.
* There are up to four Cu Sidhes floating around the Champion altar if you are looking to tame one. Tamers frequently 'turn over' the spawn in search of rare colors. This means that, at any given time, there are usually 2 or more Cu Sidhe Paragons available to hunt.
