In celebration of the first Holiday season in UO, the developers planned a few treats for the players. The first of which were NPC Santa characters who spawned with various properly named reindeer throughout the lands. Thieves were able to steal pairs of black leather gloves from these characters. Most notably was the distribution of gift bags to the players based on their notoriety. Positive karma players received a bag marked 'Happy Holidays!' which contained the following items:

* A red, grey, or green bag labeled 'Happy Holidays!'

* A full bottle of champagne
* A full bottle of Eggnog
* One bunch of dates
* A fireworks wand
* A wrist watch
* Fruitcake
 
 
Alternatively those players with negative karma received a bag marked 'You Were Naughty This Year!' which contained the following items:
