Prior to a certain publish (Age of Shadows?), you could craft jewelry with many jewels. For example you could make a necklace with 1,000 diamonds or a bracelet with 500 rubies. When made, it would have the number attached for the total stack but would only consume one of the gem. This jewelry is now considered rare. The highest total gem count could be 60,000 due to the limitation of stacked items.
Today you can only craft jewelry with a single gem.
