Contents
Hephaestus was a Greek god of fire and the son of Zeus and Hera. In his Olympian workshop he created beautiful and marvelous works, utensils, and arms, for both men and gods. The Hammer of Hephaestus is a named Smith's Hammer; it is a rechargable tool, a weapon, and a reward.
Reward
The Hammer of Hephaestus is a quest reward for successful completion of It's Hammer Time! New Player Quest, which is given by George Hephaestus The Blacksmithing Instructor who is located at the Forge And Anvil shop in New Haven.
Unlike most items with the Item Property Uses Remaining, the hammer does not disappear when the Uses Remaining count reaches 0. While automatic charge recovery is not indicated in the tooltip, every 4 minute 30 seconds grants 1 Uses Remaining to a maximum of 20.

Tool
As a tool, the smith's hammer is used by blacksmiths to craft items. This tool increases the users blacksmithing skill by 10 points (up to the maximum set by their skill cap). The dedicated blacksmith will eventually discard it in favour of an Ancient Hammer.
