The Hammer of Hephaestus can be obtained by completing the new player quest, It's Hammer Time!, which is started by talking to George Hephaestus the Blacksmithing Instructor. He can be found in the Forge and Anvil in New Haven.
Notes
Unlike most items with the Item Property Uses Remaining, the hammer does not disappear when the Uses Remaining count reaches 0. While automatic charge recovery is not indicated in the tooltip, every 4 minute 30 seconds grants 1 Uses Remaining to a maximum of 20.
Usage
As a weapon, the hammer is a One-Handed Weapon for mace fighters.
As a tool, the hammer is used by blacksmiths to craft items. This tool increases the user's blacksmithing skill by 10 points (up to the maximum set by their skill cap). The dedicated blacksmith will eventually discard it in favor of an Ancient Hammer.
