MR, or Mana Regeneration, improves the rate at which you regenerate mana, this is unaffected by armor type / Mage Armor However, 'medable' armor does allow for faster natural meditation.
It can be found naturally on armor, and ranges in intensity from 1 to 2. There is no cap on MR.
MR works in addition to any natural regeneration you may have from Focus or Meditation skills
