On many Shards, Royal Guard Sashes were handed out by Event Moderators (EMs) to those players who participated in their events (see EM Event).
The color varied by shard. Lake Superior's, for example were initially bright white. (Later, Lake Superior's EM handed out sashes of a different color.)
