A Trammie or Tram is a player of Ultima Online who refuses to risk exposure to any sort of adverse or dangerous environment other than NPC monsters. Trammies are often considered to be unskilled in player versus player combat.

History

With the launch of Ultima Online: Renaissance developers of the game implemented a new land mass called Trammel. The original land mass was given the name Felucca. The two were mirror images of each other with the exception of the rulesets that governed each.

In Felucca, PvP combat, looting, and stealing from other players was allowed. In Trammel, players were, by default, not allowed to attack one another in any way, nor steal from each other or loot fallen players. Members of the same player organization (guild), however, may attack or steal from each other as well as any member of an enemy guild. This change prompted certain players to leave the original land, in order to reside in the much safer land of Trammel, leaving unscrupulous residents of Felucca without prey. Felucca quickly became desolate, and those who fled to Trammel became known as "Trammies", or "Care-Bears". The term care bear is now primarily used in other games to describe this sort of player.

Other uses

A Trammie can also be a player who enjoys spending a lot of game time at the bank, showing off his artifacts and cavorting with other Trammies who collect pixel crack - renamed and rehued items that serve no purpose aside from decoration.
