Veteran reward
As a way to reward loyal UO subscribers, Veteran Rewards were introduced in late 2001. Each year an account is active, credits are given which can be used to select rewards. In the beginning, there were only rewards for accounts up to 3 years old. This has been expanded all the way up to 9 year old accounts. Rewards may be traded and sold, but only accounts old enough can wear and use them. All Veteran Rewards are Blessed.

Determining Eligibility
Account age is determined by how many months it has been paid for.
- Any account created before November 30, 1999 will automatically be credited for all of the time from the date it was created until November 30, 1999. In other words, if you created your account on October 30, 1998, your account would be credited for 13 months of time, regardless of whether your account was inactive during part of that time.
- Following November 30, 1999, only the months in which you had an active account will contribute to the total count of months qualifying you for rewards.
- You can check your account age by opening the Profile on any character on the account. The age in months will be displayed at the bottom and also appear as a system message. Other players cannot see your account age.
The Rewards
Skill Cap Increase
At the end of the first 4 years, an account will recieve +5 to every character's skill cap. After the 4th year this bonus is no longer given.

1st Year Rewards
At the 12 month mark, an account is credited with 3 choices and can choose any of the following items.
- Black Dye Tub - Allows you to dye cloth and clothing black
- Furniture Dye Tub - Used to dye furniture
- Special Dye Tub - New colors to use on cloth that are not available on a normal dye tub
- Bronze Cloak & Bronze Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- Copper Cloak & Copper Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- One of 14 Monster Statues that make sounds when walked near:
- Red Soulstone - An unlimited use soulstone that is account bound when claimed
- Mini Contest house
2nd Year Rewards
At the 24 month mark, an account is credited with 1 additional choice and can choose any preceeding year reward or from the following items.
- Leather Dye Tub - Dye leather armor a variety of colors
- Flaming Skull - A skull that you place in your house that shoots fire
- Hanging Banner - A varity of banner styles to spruce up your home
- Agapite Cloak & Agapite Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- Golden Cloak & Golden Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
3rd Year Rewards
At the 36 month mark, an account is credited with 1 additional choice and can choose any preceeding year reward or from the following items.
- Verite Cloak & Verite Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- Valorite Cloak & Valorite Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- One of 3 Monster Statues that make sounds when walked near:
- One of 3 Ethereal Mounts that stay with you always and cannot be killed:
4th Year Rewards
At the 48 month mark, an account is credited with 1 additional choice and can choose any preceeding year reward or from the following items.
- Runebook Dye Tub
- Decorative Shield Wall Hanging
- Skeleton Wall Hanging
- Dark Grey Cloak & Dark Grey Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- Ice Blue Cloak & Ice Blue Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- Ice Green Cloak & Ice Green Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn

5th Year Rewards
At the 60 month mark, an account is credited with 1 additional choice and can choose any preceeding year reward or from the following items.
- Reward Statuette Dye Tub
- Ankh
- Fire Cloak & Fire Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- Ice White Cloak & Ice White Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- Jet Black Cloak & Jet Black Robe - +3% to physical resistance when worn
- One of 3 Monster Statues that make sounds when walked near:
- Fire Elemental - Gazer - Wolf
- One of 3 Ethereal Mounts that stay with you always and cannot be killed:
6th Year Reward
At the 72 month mark, an account is credited with 2 additional choices and can choose any preceeding year reward or the following item.
- Player Statue Maker - Create a life size statue of your character in either Bronze, Jade, or Alabaster Marble. The statue is life size, has 3 different poses, and will mimic your current equipement.
7th Year Reward
At the 84 month mark, an account is credited with 2 additional choices and can choose any preceeding year reward or the following item.
- Decorative Cannon - Place a cannon in your house which can be fired, causing a spectacular explosion.
8th Year Reward
At the 96 month mark, an account is credited with 2 additional choices and can choose any preceeding year reward or the following item.
- Weapon Engraving Tool - A rechargable tool that allows you to place a line of text in orange below the name of a weapon.
9th Year Reward
At the 108 month mark, an account is credited with 2 additional choices and can choose any preceeding year reward or the following item.
- Ethereal Polar Bear - A real Polar Bear that you can ride around.
