Moongates are magical portals, through which characters can travel and get to distant places. It appears as a blue shimmer of light, very similar to what one sees when the magic spell Gate Travel is cast. Moongates are so named because once upon a time, their destination was determined by the phases of Sosaria's twin moons. (Now it is determined by choice; see below.)
Each facet can be entered through moongate, and travel between different locations within each facet can also occur.
In the facets of Trammel and Felucca, there is one Moongate for each major city. In Ilshenar, there is one for each Shrine of Virtue and one for the Shrine of Chaos. In the Tokuno Islands, there is one for each island. In Malas there is one for each city (two in total).
Upon entering the moongate, the character is given a menu, calling on him or her to pick a facet and a location within that facet.
