Talk:Satyr Trick

- I believe that this trick no longer works as intended. I attempted to train up Tinkering and Bowcraft and I noticed I was getting slow gains (90 real skill tinkering brought down to 60's). The types of gains I was getting were consistent with the types of gains you could expect for a 90+ skill.

So I tested my theory with Bowcraft. When I was leveling bowcraft initially in the 50-60 skill range I would get 1.4-1.8 per stack of 400 wood crafting Fukiya Darts. The amount of points gained per 400 boards would steadily drop as my skill went up. When I attempted to do the Satyr trick with Bowcrafting using the Fukiya Darts (80ish real skill dropped to 50ish skill) I would only gain .3-.4 per 400 boards, which was the normal gain rate for my real skill.

Further testing is needed. But I highly doubt this trick works the way people think it does and could be wasting a lot of peoples time and effort. 5/31/13 - Mookies

Will Faction statloss work the same way as, or even stacked with, the Satyr Trick for skill gain?

It is my understanding that faction stat loss can be used in the same way as the Satyr Trick to increase overall skill gains. However, I do not know if it stacks. Could someone give this a try? --Ceruleus 08:47, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

as far as i know, you cannot gain any skill in faction stat loss

I can confirm that it does NOT work. You cannot gain in any skill as long as you are suffering from faction statloss --Merion 14:19, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
