Talk:Spawning and Decaying

I don't quite get this page... It seems to list ML quest items that spawn on the ground and others that have a timer. But there's no real explanation, so I think this page should be re-worked. I found it while searching for a page that explains the decaying of items in general, but it seems there's no page for that basic concept.

Looks like this page was copied from UOStuff when their wiki was merged into ours. Do whatever you like to it.

The keys to enter peerless bosses are under the respective boss' page currently. The items that spawn in various locations that are quest items are again under their own pages and the respective quest's (e.g. Sap_of_Sosaria). I think you're right about creating a page informing the decaying of items in general. We can discuss the time it takes for a droped item to disappear, life span property, thrashed items and even Cavern of the Discarded. Spawning is a hard one since the very subject contains all items that spawn randomly or on a specific time, including regs spawning on the ground, daily rares spawning on the dungeons and cities (not stealables, the ones you can pick up), quest items spawning on specific locations, generally anything that will re-spawn when picked up or decayed.

Thanks for agreeing with me. I startet this page with just a few random infos from the top of my head. We can work from there on. But what to do with this article? Scrap it? or just letting it get forgotten?

I would say that we should probably get what info we can from this page and then scrap it. As stated, most of these items have their info repeated on the relevant pages, and the info on this page is rather...sparse, to say the least. ("Limited lifespan?" How long is that, exactly?) I'm thinking we should make a "List of Decay Times" or something similar, that lists actual numbers for the various peerless keys, newbie items, etc.
