The Thread of Thought is an item that was found as loot on Dark Wisps during the Blackrock Detector event. They were introduced to gameplay on March 29, 2008 in the alternate Moonglow. Companion to the Thread of Life and Thread of Fate, its use is at the time of writing is unknown.

Currently:

  • The Thread of Thought also is a quest item that can be redeemed for rubble furniture. The name of this quest is Threads of Thought and the quest giver is located near the ruined Magincia moongate, both in Trammel and Felucca.
  • The Thread of Thought is a quest item that can be redeemed with a Cloak of Corruption for a Cloak Of Power. The name of this quest is Strangers Bearing Gifts - Power and the quest giver is located in front of The Lycaeum on Moonglow Isle in Tram and Fel.

Possible Uses

Included with the notice of the Blackrock Detector activation, was the following cryptic statement:

"Collectable items that “seem” to have only decorative purpose will have a turn-in, along with the Ophidian items, in Publish 52."

It is possible that this relates to the Thread of Life, Thread of Thought or Thread of Fate.

Speaking Thread

Some characters see text when the thread is double-clicked. Some of the threads stack with others, but some strangely do not. This is because there are many different versions of the same thread. Each gives a different message if double clicked and only those with the same message will stack. Here are messages heard from the Thread of Fate:
