Besides the "Your spirit lacks cohesion", it is also very annoying that it always has no reaction when I step on the gate, and I have to try tons of time before I can actually get into the gate, how come?

If walking through a gate neither gives you the cohesion method nor teleports you, then odds are your character never actually touched the thing.
This can happen a lot in hilly terrain. Believe it or not all those bumps you see on the map really count for something, and when casting a gate they'll sometimes end up just a little to high (or perhaps low). You try to run through them and nothing happens 'cause they aren't on the same level as you are. I think this might be a little more likely to happen if you try to move just before the spell completes.
The solution is to stand by the gate and double click on it. Odds are you'll end up getting the cohesion message instead, but at least that'll be something...
