Alignment refers to the relative amount of a creature's karma. Creatures with a negative karma score are evil; killing these creatures will raise a character's karma. Creatures with a positive karma score are good; killing these creatures will lower a character's karma. Some creatures are also neutral; killing these creatures will have no impact on a character's karma.
