Blessed items will always stay with you when you die.

Items with the blessed property

Stay in your backpack when you die
Equipped items are placed into your backpack when you die
Can not be stolen with the Stealing skill
Can not be Insured
Bug: Since the Age of Shadows expansion, there is an extremely rare and not understood condition which can allow blessed and insured items to fall to your corpse.
Bug: Blessed items are not auto-equipped when EZ Looting your corpse
