There are several places that you can't use camping, such as Fel dungeons or Champ Spawn areas. I've added a link to a camping guide which is really good.

I've tried several areas in both Trammel and Malas, without success. I get all the messages, the menu, and even wait 10 seconds, but without being able to log in another character. I think this skill may be broken. --[[User:Ceruleus|Ceruleus]] 14:56, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Basically, altho I liked the rp-ish idea of a character actually having to place the bedroll on the ground, unrolling it and then using it again as if going to sleep, Connection Lost is not a good way, visually, to log out -should just go back to the Login screen like a normal logout, IMO.

Has anyone been able to get camping to work recently? Last I saw no matter how often you "secured your camp", you still wouldn't log out instantly.

Or are there certain other rules that need to be followed?

Ok, I tried it out and this is how I got it to work:

Successfully ignite kindling

5 seconds later, message indicating it would take a while to secure the camp appears.

30 seconds later, message indicating camp is secure appears.

Double-clicking on a bedroll in my pack did nothing.

Placing the bedroll on the ground and then double-clicking it unrolled it.

Double-clicking it again presented me with a message window asking if I wished to log out or wanted to cancel the request.

Clicking OK instantly rolled up the bedroll and popped it back into my pack. 3 seconds later I got Connection Lost.

I was then able to log in instantly with another character.

Testing was done outside of guardzone in Trammel.

Basically, altho I liked the rp-ish idea of a character actually having to place the bedroll on the ground, unrolling it and then using it again as if going to sleep, Connection Lost is not a good way, visually, to log out -should just go back to the Login screen like a normal logout, IMO.

Enjoy your next camping trip, lol
