The Craftman's Satchel is a quest reward given for the successful completion of numerous NPC quests, which are mainly found in the elf enclaves of Heartwood and Sanctuary.

Craftman's Satchels are the primary source of recipes by which special items, and even craftable artifacts, are created by players. They are also the source of talismans, which can contain crafting bonuses and, on occasion, slayer properties.
A satchel usually contains:
- 1-2 random magic items.
It can sometimes contain:
- 1 Talisman
About 1 out of 2 times, it will contain:
- 1 Recipe
One out of x times, it will contain:
- A profession-specific item.
Some information as to the effectiveness of luck on the probability of a recipe would be nice here.
Profession-specific items
A Craftsman's Satchel contains items that are related to the profession of the quest giver. In the case of a Bowcraft/Fletching NPC, they will give the following:
- A magic Bracelet, Ring, or Elven Composite Longbow (every time)
- A Talisman (1 in 3)
- A Bowcraft/Fletching Recipe
- Common: Assassin's Shortbow - Barbed Longbow - Frozen Longbow - Lightweight Shortbow - Longbow of Might - Mystical Shortbow - Ranger's Shortbow - Slayer Longbow (1 in 3)
- Rare: Blight Gripped Longbow - Faerie Fire - Mischief Maker - Silvani's Feywood Bow - The Night Reaper (1 in 100)
- An Aquarium deed (1 in 500)
- A random Elven Furniture house addon (1 in 500)
- An Oak, Ash, Yew, or Heartwood Runic Fletcher's Tools (1 in 500/2,500/5,000/10,000)
Alchemy Satchels are obtained by the Grape and Wine Makers near the top of the tree, and will often contain recipes for the following potions:
