Most recently, SinVraal the Gargoyle was the initial quest giver NPC for The Candle of Love event of March, April, and June of 2007.
He was located to the northeast of Minoc and Vesper (129o 38'N 128o 6'E). By double-clicking him, a character could initiate a chain quest that resulted, if completed sucessfully, in a Candle of Love. SinVraal gave The Darkness quest. The quest chain related to the attacks by the Shadowlord of Hate, and the purification of the Candle of Love. This quest chain is currently defunct, as the attacks of Astaroth have been beaten back.
SinVraal was present in the single-player Ultima series as well, wherein he played a similar role. Betraying the Shadowlord of Hate, he offered vital information to the player. Curiously, however, he was a demon, not a gargoyle.
