The Draconic Awakening is a dynamic event that was released in late 2025 as part of Publish 121.

Overview

After the Siege of Mistas, Britannian forces descended into the dungeon below in pursuit of Victor Blackthorn. But instead of facing justice, Victor escaped through the Ethereal Void, leaving ruin behind him. Yet the wounds he inflicted upon the veil between worlds remain unhealed. His reckless use of void magic shattered the fabric of Sosaria, and through these fractures, a new menace has arisen; the Umbrascale, a corrupted brood of dragons forged from void and flame.

The Umbrascale can be found throughout the world, with various means to find them and defeat them.

Dragon nest hunting

The Umbrascale have been creating nests throughout the lands and must be destroyed. These nests can be found with Dragon Nest Maps.

Dragon Nest Maps

The Maps can be found from Hidden Chests or from the Rewards Vendor for the Draconic Invasions.

There are five variations

  • A Tattered Treasure Map Leading To A Fledgling Dragon Nest
  • A Tattered Treasure Map Leading To A Lesser Dragon Nest
  • A Tattered Treasure Map Leading To A Greater Dragon Nest
  • A Tattered Treasure Map Leading To A Grand Dragon Nest
  • A Tattered Treasure Map Leading To A Massive Dragon Nest

A Decryption Cypher is required to decode the locations, they can be crafted by cartographers. Anyone can read the map once they are decoded.

Once the map has been decoded and the location found, you must use a shovel or pickaxe to find the nest. Defeating the nest guardians will allow you to search the nest.

Nest Loot

Once the nest has been looted dismantle or burn the nest (you will need a torch).

The Dragon Matriarch

The Dragon Matriarch will appear once enough of the Dragon Nests have been burned.

Town Crier Barks

  • The skies remain still, but the scent of scorched earth lingers faintly on the wind.
  • Whispers echo from forgotten caves...something ancient stirs beneath the ash
  • Distant roars echo across the mountains. Scorched skies foretell the return of something vast.
  • The skies blacken and crackle with flame...Something massive draws near
  • From the ashes of the fallen, she rises. All shall burn beneath her gaze.
  • A vast shadow spreads as wings blot out the sun...the Umbrascale Matriarch descends upon (coordinates)

Rewards

Treasures of Draconic Awakening

Treasures of the Draconic Awakening is a dynamic treasure event that took place throughout Britannia during Fall of 2025-26. As with other Treasures of events, it utilizes the same rules as the previous structure of turn-in points awarded for monster kills, identical to the Castle Blackthorn Dungeon Minax Artifact system. The dungeon is not static but switches between 7 different dungeons. This also included the Hidden Treasure, similar to the Khaldun Hidden Treasure, but without the puzzle boxes.

Hidden treasure

Hidden chests can be found within the current dungeon being invaded. With the Detecting Hidden skill, players will get a message for a hidden chest "Your keen sense detect something hidden in the area". Using the skill and targeting the ground in the area will reveal a chest. Lockpicking skills must be used to unlock the chest, and the Remove Trap skill (or telekinesis spell) to remove the traps before opening. This publish improved the Remove Trap skill, making it more reliable.
