Shard Bound Items

Question

Can we implement something that removes the "shard bound" label on one item and replace it with "account bound"? You can make it a rare drop (think whetstone), perhaps something fun to farm like a world boss or Fel dungeon.

Answer

Kyronix: There are currently no plans to allow the removal of the shard bound property.

Felucca Matriarch Spawn

Question

Rumor going around if you do a nest in fel that will pop the boss she will spawn in trammel at that spot. I tried to replicate that this morning by doing 5 massives and 5 grands after ashes and she would not pop. So question is, is this true?

Answer

Parallax: Felucca dragon nest maps will provide progress towards summoning the Matriarch, but the Matriarch does not spawn on the Felucca facet and cannot be triggered from the Felucca facet either. In your specific scenario, you experienced the correct results. If the system is at the final threshold before the Matriarch will spawn, completing a map on Felucca will not spawn it anywhere. The exception to this is the Siege Perilous shard.

Umbrascale Clothing

Question

Umbrascale Skirt and Kilt - We want to be able to cut these into cloth with salvage bag and repurpose the cloth into other items with the tailoring skill well after the event ends. Can you make this happen? There is a YUGE portion of this community that collects rare hue cloth and you guys did a great job selecting these 3 new hues.

Answer

Kyronix: We are constantly evaluating new colors to deliver through various means in-game, whether it be through gameplay or the Ultima Store. Thanks for the feedback and we're glad you like the colors!

Housing Expansion

Question

Will there be a housing expansion or more land to place houses?

Answer

Kyronix: We're currently working on updates to the post-IDOC house placement scheme, and those changes will be released with Publish 122, currently slated for February of 2026. As far as new landmasses and additional areas to place houses... funny you should mention that.

Repair Chance

Question

Can we get the formula for the percentage chance for a repair to succeed? Would be nice to know the optimal spot to repair my jewels, armor and weapons.

Answer

Parallax: There are multiple calculations that happen when you attempt to repair an item to determine the success rate and if the item incurs durability loss.

Durability Loss:

  • There is a 40% base chance to lose durability when repairing an item.
  • This can be offset by 1% per 10.0 points of skill the player (or repair deed) has.
  • For each point of durability the item has lost, the chance to lose durability is increased by 1%.

Example: If you have 120.0 tailoring and repair an item that is at 200/255, the durability loss chance is calculated as: ((40 + 255) - 200) - (120.0 / 10), or an 83% chance to lose durability.

Durability loss can occur even if the repair is not successful.

Repair Chance:

  • First, the repair difficulty is determined by how damaged the item is. The greater the damage, the more difficult the repair will be. An item that is 250/255 will have a difficulty rating of about ~19.
  • Second, skill-based roll is made. The difficulty of the repair is subtracted from this roll to determine if the repair is successful or not.

For max durability items (255):

  • With 120 skill, you will have 100% success at 11+ durability
  • With 100 skill, you will have 100% success at 52+ durability
