The Crimson Cincture is an Artifact half-apron, introduced with the Mondain's Legacy expansion. Originally, it was to be a "minor" artifact found on Mondain's legacy minor bosses, such as Swoop and Miasma. At the urging of players, who recognized its value and power right away, it was changed to be a Peerless-only item. It is found on their corpses (not spawning in someone's inventory, like some other artifacts do).
In addition to Peerlesses, it has also spawned on certain event-specific monsters, such as The Six and Melissa the Mage.
Originally, it was an elf-only item (an artifact Woodland Belt). The manufacturers were persuaded that something this powerful should not be race-specific.
It is one of the most highly sought after artifacts because it is the only Belt equipment slot item that has item properties on it, with the exception of ninja belts, which are of considerably less use. Clothing bless deeds can be used on this artifact on all shards except Siege and Mugen. Like all half aprons, the Crimson Cincture, or CC, is dyeable.
