Traders was the official name for the mysterious, dark-robed figures who appeared in Haven during the Fall of 2006. They took Blackrock and gave back valuable rewards, including various Artifacts.
The concentration of Blackrock in Haven eventually led to the destruction of that city, and thus to the creation of New Haven.
