Riding Swipe
Riding Swipe
If you are on foot, dismounts your opponent and damages the ethereal's rider or the live mount (which must be healed before ridden again). If you are mounted, damages and stuns the mounted opponent. Requires Bushido skill.

Riding Swipe is a Bushido special move that was added during the Samurai Empire expansion in the fall of 2004. It requires 50 Bushido skill to execute.

Primary weapons

No weapons have Riding Swipe as a primary ability.

Seconday weapons

Weapons with a secondary ability of Riding Swipe require 90 or higher in the appropriate fighting skill and 60 or higher in tactics.

Notes

During beta testing, the move caused the death of the target's mount once the rider was dismounted.

Publishes

  • Publish 46 (10 Aug 2007): Anything that can dismount a player character will now force an opponent out of Animal Form. This includes weapon special moves such as Dismount and Riding Swipe, items such as Bolas, and any creatures with Dismount, Raging Stomp, or Bola Throwing AI. The same timer will come into play for returning to animal form after being bola'd as currently exists towards remounting after being bola'd.
  • Publish 42 (1 Sep 2006): Players can no longer remount immediately after dismounting a player with Riding Swipe
  • Publish 37 (3 Nov 2005): Riding Swipe now properly damages mounts
    Riding Swipe now works properly on Hiryus
  • Publish 29 (20 Jan 2005): Fixed an issue causing the No-Dachi Riding Swipe, when used to dismount a murderer or criminal, to make the player become a criminal.
