Serpent Arrow is a special move that was added during the Mondain's Legacy expansion in the summer of 2005.

Effects

Based on the attacker's Poisoning skill, Archery skill, and Dexterity, they have a chance to apply poison within a certain range of strength. To poison a target, the attacker must succeed with the ability, roll a level of poison that's in the correct range for their poisoning skill, and succeed with the skill gain chance roll. Due to the Serpent Arrow code being "deeply weird," the chance of gaining Archery skill points while using it is "distressingly small." [1]

This move causes a slight karma loss when successfully poisoning a victim.

No weapons have Serpent Arrow as a primary ability.

Secondary weapons

Weapons with a secondary ability of Serpent Arrow require 90 or higher in the appropriate fighting skill and 60 or higher in tactics.
