Resources are materials used in crafting skills, with each resource having a different method of gathering.
- Leather and Dragon Scales can be skinned off several types of dead creatures (dragons, cows).
- Wood can be obtained by chopping at trees with an axe.
- Metal and gems can be obtained by using a pickaxe in mountain areas or cave floors.
- Cloth can be gained by refining the sheered wool from sheep or cotton picked from fields.
When gathering resources in Felucca, resources are doubled. Humans get a 10% bonus on gathered resources, calculated after the Felucca bonus.
Hunting
Hunting is the process of killing creatures to get resources or quest items.
Skinning
Skinning is the process of using a bladed weapon on the remains of something killed to get additional resources from it. These resources are placed inside the remains. The most common resources are:

Mining
Ore can be gathered in four different styles of piles. This table shows the smelting success rates for each ore at different skill levels. Note that skills above 100 can only be achieved using Mining Gloves.

- High Quality Granite - After using the Mining for Quality Stone book, granite can be dug up using the Context Menu from clicking on a shovel or pickaxe and selecting to dig it up. It can be used to make House Addons such as furniture, walls, and doors. It can also be used to craft Gargish armor and weapons with the same Item Property as using ingots, except that it uses Masonry.
- Sand - With the Find Glass-Quality Sand book, sand can be dug up using a shovel or pickaxe to be used for Glassblowing.
- Gems - With the Mining for Quality Gems book, any type of gem can be found while mining, except for Brilliant Amber which is found on trees and White Pearls that are found while fishing.
- Niter - One of the ingredients used to make items for cannon ammunition and High Seas ship battles.
Imbuing
These are the different materials used to imbue Item Properties onto gear using the Imbuing skill:
Other
- Cloth - This can be crafted from a combination of 5 Ball of Yarn or Spool of Thread using a Loom, or purchased from a vendor.
- Wool - Each Pile of Wool provides 3 Balls of Yarn when used on a Spinning Wheel. Every 5 Balls of Yarn used on a Loom will make a Bolt of Cloth.
- Cotton - Each Bale of Cotton provides 6 Spools of Thread when used on a Spinning Wheel. Every 5 Spools of Thread used on a Loom will make a Bolt of Cloth.
- Reagents - These can be found in the wild, or purchased from vendors.
- Unabridged Atlas of Eodon - A special item used to make a map of Eodon using Cartography.
