The Serpent’s Jawbone is a reward during the Halloween 2017 event. You needed 50 Artifacts of Enchanted Origin to acquire it.
It acts as a teleporter that can be used to teleport a character to the following locations in Ilshenar:
- The Village of Lakeshire
- The Rat Fort
- Reg Volom
- Twin Oaks Tavern
- The Oasis
- Blood Dungeon
- Cyclops Dungeon
- Exodus Dungeon
- The Ki-Rin Passage
- Pass of Karnaugh
- The Rat Cave
- Terort Skitas
- Twisted Weald
- Wisp Dungeon
- Gwenno’s Memorial
- Desert Gypsy Camp
- Rock Dungeon
Notes
The idea of this item goes back to Ultima VII Part Two, where the Serpent Jawbone enables the Avatar to use the Serpent Gates, which lead to the Dark Path in the Void. From there, any other Serpent Gate can be reached, allowing the party to move about the map quickly. Teeth had to be collected in order to use it, each for a location it allowed travel to.
