The Stone Harpy is a misnomer. Harpies living in excess of a century will develop a very tough outer layer of skin. Almost chitinous, this skin acts as a primary defense of the older harpies. Though movement is decreased, their armor and hardened talons make them more dangerous. The feathers covering a stone harpy, are hard as steel and are excellent for fletching.
