Overview
The moons of Sosaria have shifted in their ancient orbits, sending Astral Fragments raining down upon the waters of Britannia! Scholars and Astronomers urge caution, but others see this as a good omen and a blessing in the skies above! Adventurers across the realm are already setting sail to claim their share of the celestial bounty!
Astral objects
Astral objects have rained down upon the waters of Felucca, Trammel, and Tokuno Islands and come in a variety of styles and hues:
- Astral Shard (Common)
- Broken Astral Crystal (Uncommon)
- Fractured Astral Crystal (Very Uncommon)
- Astral Crystal (Rare)
- Astral Prism (Very Rare)
- Orb of the Moons (Uber Rare)
Astral Shards can be turned into the Moonveil Trader in Yew. Astral Crystals (all types) and Astral Prisms can be kept as decorative items or smashed into Astral Fragments that can be turned into the Moonveil Trader. Orb of the Moons cannot be smashed. The quantity and quality of Astral Fragments created are determined by the rarity of the object being smashed. Smashing a crystal requires the use of a Moonveil Crystal Smasher, made by tinkers.
When smashing a crystal, there is a rare chance to receive a Moon-Touched item:
- Moon-Touched Kilt
- Moon-Touched Skirt
- Moon-Touched Robe
- Moon-Touched Dress
- Moon-Touched Cloak
- Moon-Touched Parrot
Players can obtain astral objects through a variety of activities:
- Fishing in new ocean points of interest
- Fishing up messages in a bottle / SOS Chests
- Defeating Dread Pirates
- Looting cargo holds of pirate and merchant ships
- Defeating High Seas bosses (Corgul the Soulbinder, Osiredon the Scalis Enforcer, and Charybdis)
- Completing virtue pilgrimages
Ocean points of interest
While traveling the seas in Felucca, Trammel, and Tokuno Islands, players may come across a new point of interest in the water. These points of interest appear as small, bubbling areas in the water. When fished into, players have a chance to recover astral objects. The chance to successfully recover an astral object is based on the player's fishing skill, with 120 fishing guaranteeing an object. Multiple objects can be recovered from the same point of interest.
Dread Pirates & High Seas bosses
Defeating Dread Pirates and High Seas bosses during Moonveil will reward players with a small amount of Justice virtue points.
Virtue pilgrimages
During Moonveil, players can partake in virtue pilgrimages. Virtue pilgrimages can be obtained from Brother Footwell near Empath Abbey in Yew. Pilgrimages can be completed in both Felucca and Trammel. Pilgrimages are randomly assigned and are not unique, meaning the same pilgrimage can be obtained multiple times. When accepting a pilgrimage, players will receive a Virtue Candle tied to a specific virtue shrine. Complete the pilgrimage by walking on foot to the required virtue shrine and placing the candle at its base. Placing the candle at an incorrect location will cause the candle to lose its flame, and the Pilgrimage will fail if it is left on the ground. Players cannot mount, recall, or Gate Travel while on a virtue pilgrimage. Sailing is permitted.
Completed virtue pilgrimages can be tracked on the gump when speaking to Brother Footwell. Players can only accept 5 virtue pilgrimages per day. Completing a virtue pilgrimage will award an astral object and Spirituality virtue points. Completing all virtue pilgrimages in Felucca or Trammel will reward special titles. Completing all virtue pilgrimages in Felucca AND Trammel will reward a special title.
